The campsite features a large 20-metre swimming pool, heated during high season, ideal for swimming and relaxation.
A paddling pool allows young children to enjoy the water safely.
Sun loungers are available around the pool to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Boats and canoes from the campsite
From the landing stage located directly on the campsite, boat and canoe hire allows guests to explore the canals of the Venise Verte at their own pace, in a preserved natural setting.
The campsite also offers guided boat trips to discover the marshland with a professional guide.
Bicycle hire
Bicycles are available for hire on site to explore the paths, embankments and small roads of the marshland.
Child trailers and trailers suitable for transporting pets are also available, making cycling accessible for families and guests travelling with animals.
Predator fishing - Fishing Accommodation certified campsite
Camping – Embarcadère Le Lidon is certified as a Fishing Accommodation and offers ideal conditions for freshwater predator fishing in the Marais Poitevin.
Fishing is possible directly along the canals, close to accommodation and pitches.
Common species include pike, zander, perch and black bass, as well as other species typical of calm marsh waters.
During the season, the campsite offers a fishing activity led by a recognised professional fishing guide, focusing on predator fishing and crayfish fishing, in compliance with local regulations and environmental protection.
Nature activities led by professionals
During the season, mainly in July and August, the campsite offers nature-based activities led by qualified professionals, such as guided cycling tours, canoe outings, nature walks, wildlife and flora discovery, nature workshops, basket-weaving workshops, outdoor games for children, gentle sporting activities, archery, introductions to crayfish and predator fishing, bushcraft activities, astronomy sessions and family-friendly activities.

The campsite enjoys an ideal location close to Niort – Marais Poitevin, officially recognised as a Trail Station.
Several trail-running routes are accessible in the immediate vicinity of the campsite, allowing runners to start directly from the site.
Marked routes follow paths, embankments and natural trails, with various distances and difficulty levels.
- Photography & birdwatching
Camping – Embarcadère Le Lidon is an excellent base for nature photography and birdwatching in Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud.
The marshland landscapes provide ideal conditions for wildlife and landscape photography.
A birdwatching park located a few kilometres away, easily accessible on foot or by bike from the campsite, allows visitors to observe many bird species typical of the Marais Poitevin in a calm, preserved environment.
